Henna - the colour is reddish brown
I mix my own henna paste and it consists of only a few natural ingredients:
Henna powder (100% finely ground leaves of the henna tree ‘'Lawsonia inermis’’, lemon juice, sugar and organic, pure essential oils. Henna has been in use for thousands of years, is reddish brown and is completely harmless. Thicker skin (palms of hands, soles of feet) stain darker.
Henna and Jagua both work in the same way. The colour penetrates the first layer of skin and stays there until that layer has completely renewed itself.
It lasts for approximately 2 weeks and then gradually disappears completely.
Important! My henna paste and my jagua gel do not contain the fast colouring controversial additive PPD (p-Phenylendiamin). They smell herbal and fruity. PPD on the other hand smells pungent. Another indicator of the presence of PPD is that the colour penetrates the skin much quicker than Henna or Jagua. This ''black henna’’ is popular in many holiday resorts. Its use can result in serious allergic reactions.
